The meeting was called to order at the University of Ottawa by DNP Chairperson Reiner Kruecken (RK) at 12:06 on Tuesday, 14 June 2016. Twenty DNP members and one observer from the Particle Physics Division (PPD) were present.

2014-15 Competition

The Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2014-15 DNP Thesis Prize is Timothy Friesen. Dr. Friesen was awarded his Ph.D. by the University of Calgary in 2014 for the work “Probing Trapped Antihydrogen: In Situ Diagnostics and Observations of Quantum Transitions”.

2013-14 Competition

Due to a lack of submissions in the fall of 2014, there was no DNP Ph.D. Thesis competition this year and consequentially no prize winner for the 2015 WNPPC meeting.

2012-13 Competition

The Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2012-13 DNP Thesis Prize is Paul E.J. Finlay. Dr. Finlay was awarded his Ph.D. by the University of Guelph in 2012 for the work “High-Precision Half-Life and Branching-Ratio Measurements for the Superallowed β+ Emitter 26Alm”.
