2012 CAP Congress DNP Annual Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by DNP Chair-Elect Zisis Papandreou (ZP) circa 12:30 on Tuesday 12 June 2012, explaining that the Chair is enjoying a Nobel symposium in Stockholm. After presenting the agenda, he introduced the 2011-2013 DNP executive members listed below.

2011-12 Competition

The Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2011-12 DNP Thesis Prize is Stephan Ettenauer. Dr. Ettenauer was awarded his Ph.D. by the University of British Columbia in 2012 for the work “First Mass Measurements of Highly Charged, Short-lived Nuclides in a Penning Trap and the Mass of 74Rb”.

2010 - 2011 Competition

The Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2010-11 DNP Thesis Prize is Richard Allan Hydomako. Dr. Hydomako was awarded his Ph.D. by the University of Calgary in 2011 for the work “Detection of Trapped Antihydrogen”.

2010 Business Meeting

The meeting was called to order by DNP Chair Kumar Sharma (KS) circa 12:30 on Tuesday 8 June 2010.

2008 - 2009 Competition

The Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2009 DNP Thesis Prize is Robert Paul MacDonald. Dr. MacDonald was awarded his Ph.D. by the University of Alberta in 2008 for the work “A Precision Measurement of the Muon Decay Parameters Rho and Delta”.

2007 - 2008 Competition

The Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2007 DNP Thesis Prize is Geoffrey Grinyer. Dr. Grinyer was awarded his Ph.D. by the University of Guelph in 2007 for the work "High Precision Half-life Measurements for Superallowed Fermi Beta Decays".
